About

Dialegesthai is a library of philosophical dialogues written in the spirit of the Platonic tradition. It is founded on the conviction that truth is more readily approached through sincere conversation than through assertion.

The works are offered freely, not as conclusions to be accepted, but as invitations to examine, question, and reason together. The project seeks neither money, fame, nor honour. It is devoted, however imperfectly, to philosophy and to the Good.

The name

Dialegesthai means to converse, to reason together, and to seek understanding through dialogue.

The sun

The emblem recalls the image of the sun in Plato’s Republic: that by which things become visible, and through which knowledge is made possible.
